Heresss Johnny, well soon anyway...
Johnny Damon says he should be ready to rejoin the team soon after he is eligible to come off the DL on Sunday and could be back by the end of next week. Damon was definitely producing this season with a line of .319, .387, .470, 6 hrs, and 37 RBIs in 82 games before going on the DL for the first time in his career after injuring his shoulder in that freaky play against the Red Sox in a 6-4 Yankee loss on the 4th of July. Now admittedly I was never high on signing Damon to the contract we signed him to because I saw him as a very old 31 and he had been beat up even without ever going on the DL. That being said, he has produced and hopefully when he gets back from the DL he can step back into left field, which is needed with Matsui possibly done for the year, and the competition between Gardner and Melky for playing time in center can hopefully wake up one or both of their bats to some better production...
