A new perspective on Bonds...

I agree with Michael that the Yanks need to take a good look at Bonds because his production is hard to overlook. However, is there anyone out there that actually would want to deal with the media that would accompany Bonds to New York? Look at what the media does now with A-Rod, covering his every move, getting into his personal life, airing his dirty laundry, and generally having no shame in reporting any sliver of truth or even innuendo regarding A-Rod. It would be the same or even worse with Bonds because San Francisco reporters would surely come and cover Bonds for at least some of the year. Even if Matsui is hurt I think I would stay away from Bonds and go with Damon (when healthy), a Melky/Gardner platoon in center, and Abreu in right. If anything I would go after a guy like Xavier Nady or a second tier guy you can get for a mid-level prospect and perhaps Melky.
