A NY Giants tangent

As you will see as time progresses, I will also be talking about the NY Giants as I am a big Giants fan. Today the Giants traded Jeremy Shockey to the NO Saints for 2009 2nd and 5th round draft picks. This was the same deal that the Giants declined during the NFL draft. Shockey was a big part of the offense for the Giants in the blocking and receiving games, but this was something that had to be done. His attitude was getting worse and worse as the season has drawn closer and unfortunately I do not think there was any way to make the situation work between Shockey and the Giants. I think they get some good value in the 2nd and 5th round picks and hopefully one or both can turn into quality players. The Giants have been very good at drafting talented players in the past so they should be able to be effective with the two picks. All that being said, Kevin Boss now has to step up and be a factor all year long. Boss should provide a nice option in the receiving game, but it has been said he needs to work on his blocking and be more physical on the line in helping with the ground game.
